About the Role
We are expanding our team and seeking a qualified and experienced Project Supervisor to oversee operations at our Ajaokuta Plant.
The role involves creating daily and weekly work plans outlining site activities and execution timelines, supervising on-site work according to project specifications, and documenting project progress.
The successful candidate will monitor construction and installation quality to ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards.
The role also includes managing contractors and subcontractors, enforcing proper use of PPE and work-at-height protocols, conducting daily safety briefings, issuing permits, assessing risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed daily work plans identifying and sequencing activities required to successfully complete projects.
- Supervise project execution in line with approved plans while maintaining organized project documentation.
- Monitor site activities and review contractor work quality to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Direct contractors to ensure safe execution and adherence to PPE and height safety practices.
- Ensure safety regulations are strictly followed through permit issuance, risk identification, and mitigation implementation.
- Coordinate resources such as material handling equipment, lifting requirements, and civil works for efficient utilization.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices.
- Plan shutdown activities in coordination with user departments without affecting project schedules.
- Understand project scope, identify milestones, and set priorities for contractor teams.
- Escalate project risks, safety concerns, quality issues, and resource challenges to the Project Manager.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and coordinate with OEM technicians during erection and commissioning activities.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Manufacturing or Building Materials industry.
- Strong project supervision, planning, and execution skills.
- Excellent manpower and scheduling management abilities.
- Proven ability to improve workforce productivity during project execution.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and factory sections simultaneously.
- Technical knowledge of civil, electro-mechanical, and architectural works.
- Willingness to work extended hours during critical project phases.
