Inland Sales Manager (MARITIME/LOGISTICS)

We are seeking an Inland Product Manager to act as the bridge between Area Sales and Operations, with the goal of increasing profitable inland volume and optimizing the inland product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Drive identification and development of relevant inland products (including premium services) in collaboration with Sales and Operations.

Gather market feedback from Area Inland functions and include transport product needs in the final offering.

Identify inland value propositions and support Sales with product information.

Act as primary point of contact for Account Managers on inland product-related queries.

Provide priorities and commercial ambitions to Procurement and support SLA definitions for transport providers.

Define inland network strategy through analysis of underserved/overserved locations, capacity, and equipment levels.

Own capacity demand forecasting reports and actively manage availability and utilization.

Outline sourcing options for fixed capacities (from contracting to potential M&A).

Analyze fixed capacity requirements using operational and commercial data.

Support Procurement in vendor identification, negotiations, and expansion of vendor base.

Plan and manage strategic vendor relationships.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 5 years’ experience in shipping/container steering.

Background in trucking/forwarding industry strongly preferred.

Strategic thinker with strong customer-centric approach.

Experience in trucking operations and product development for trucking corridors.

Experience working in Nigeria, Cameroon, Congo, and Angola (advantage).

Assertive negotiator with attention to detail.

Team player with proactive attitude; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong written English; French is an advantage.

Citizens of other West African countries are also eligible to apply

Proficiency in Microsoft applications; knowledge of port-based systems (Navis, ICUMS, etc.) and documentation.

Ability to manage multiple systems and interpret data effectively.

Degree or commercial training in Business, Sales, Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field.

Strong understanding of inland transport and ocean shipping markets.

Experience with inland transport performance measurement.

Excellent communication skills, including management-level reporting and stakeholder engagement.
